I am sat at an airport lounge ready to interview the one and only Jed Mercurio the writer of Line of Duty.
Drinking a quick Bourbon and necking a painkiller from going back at the gym I feel like DI Steve Arnott ready to find out if Jed is bent.
Me: “So after last night’s finale of Line of duty there were a flood of tweets all showing their disappointment of such an anticlimax even being compared to Game of thrones.
How does this make you feel?”
Jed: “No comment.”
Me: “It would have been better if Bran was outed as H. Would it not?”
Jed: “No comment.”
Me: “Jesting, Bran is from another series.”
Jed: “No comment.”
Me: “Do you think the writing took a nosedive this season with characters constantly saying no comment?.”
Jed: “No comment.”
Me: “Forget Old Trafford they should be protesting outside BBC for last nights disappointment.
I had to watch Sheff United lose to Tottenham by four goals on MOTD to get some semblance on reality.”
Jed: “Mother of God, United are embarrassing.”
Me: “Ten years of my life writing post it notes etc. discussing with my colleagues who H could be and you pull this on us.
I definately know how Steve, Kate and Ted felt in that last episode. having the wool pulled over their eyes by the guy who served the inbetweeners a pint.”
Jed: “No comment.”
It carried on like this for the duration of the interview Jed being as elusive as the characters he writes maybe he needs a tougher egg than me to make him crack someone like Ted Hastings.
